SapphireIMS provides easy to use diagnostic tools to diagnose network and connectivity problems.

Ping

To perform Ping, the following steps apply

 

  1. Click the 'Settings' tab. In the 'Tools' section, click 'Ping'.

  2. The Ping configuration screen is displayed as follows.

  3. Host Name/ IP Address : Specify the destination host name or IP address

  4. Timeout : Timeout value for the ping request; default is set to 1000 msec

  5. No of Pings : Number of times a ping needs to be attempted; default is set to 4

  6. Packet Size : Packet Size to be used for the ping; default size is set to 32

 

Ping

  1. The Ping request is processed and the results are displayed. Click on ‘Finish’ to redirect to the Ping Configuration screen.

Trace Route

To perform Trace Route, the following steps apply

 

  1. Click the 'Settings' tab. In the 'Tools' section, click 'Trace Route'

  2. Host Name/ IP Address : Specify the destination host name or IP address

  3. Timeout : Timeout value for the ping request; default is set to 1000 msec.

  4. Max Hop Num : Max Hops to be counted; default is set to 30

  1. The Trace Route request is processed and the results are displayed. Click on ‘Finish’ to redirect to the Trace Route Configuration screen

SNMP Walk

SapphireIMS provides an in-built tool for conducting an SNMP walk for any new device. This is needed to collect the MIB information. The tool supports SNMP v1, v2.c and v3.

The Hostname or the IP address of the device on which the SNMP walk needs to be done

SNMP Version

Specify the version of SNMP to be used

SNMP Read Community String (SNMP v1 and v2c)

Specify the community string; default community is set to 'public'.

Security Name (SNMP v3)

Security Name representing the user.

Security Authorization Protocol (SNMP v3)

Authentication Protocol used by the device. Options are 'MD5', 'DES' or 'None'.

Security Authorization Password (SNMP v3)

 Authentication key.

Security Privacy Protocol (SNMP v3)

Privacy Protocol used by the device for encryption. Options are 'AES', 'DES' or 'None'.

 Privacy key.

Timeout

Specify the maximum time to wait for a response from the device

Retry Count

Specify the retry attempts to fetch the SNMP walk

Assign the known OID path; default is set to 1.3.6.1.2.1.1
