Performance Monitoring allows you to monitor the performance of infrastructure and services. In the case of infrastructure monitoring, data is collected for various parameters which can be defined using standard protocols at regular intervals. The following infrastructure is monitored and the data is displayed in under the following tabs.
Server
Databases
Devices (includes UPS, Network Printers etc. which support data collection)
Enterprise - provides an enterprise view of the performance
Network - displays the performance data for network elements like switches, routers etc.
Application - displays the performance data for applications and VMs
Netflow - displays the information about IP traffic flow and volumes using Netflow protocol
Apart from monitoring the individual infrastructure elements, SapphireIMS allows you to monitor performance of services where the service is provided by a combination of infrastructure elements and the performance of the service is dependent on the performance of the underlying infrastructure elements. For example, the availability of a 'helpdesk' service could be dependent on the server it is running on, the database server, the database service on that server etc. A rule can be configured to specify the dependencies such that if the underlying infrastructure element is unavailable, the 'helpdesk' services shows as unavailable. The services which can be monitored for performance are as follows:
Business Services
Synthetic Transactions - for proactive monitoring of websites, applications etc.
Under the Performance tab, you will also see the following tabs:
Map View - displays a graphical view of a business service
Business SLA - displays the compliance of health and availability of a Business Service to a pre-defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) configured.
Capacity Planning - displays the capacity planning dashboards used to indicate potential breaches based on capacity planning rules defined.
My Dashboard - displays custom dashboards which can be defined by the user
This section gives the details of the controls which are common to all the Performance Monitoring pages.

All of the performance monitoring pages have the following controls.
