• Click on any software distribution dashboard to view the installed software listing.

• Click on any node based distribution dashboard to view the installed nodes listing  

• Uncategorized software dashboard displays software that do not belong to a normalization family

 

This screen is used to view the list of software installed in the organization. SapphireIMS can collect inventory for not only software installed on the system but user profile based software like Teams etc.

 

 

• Click a particular software to view details of the machines on which it is installed

 

• Apart from other details, the installed location and the last logged-in user for the system is also displayed.

 

 

 

1. On the SapphireIMS menu, point to 'Inventory' and click 'Installed Software'

2. Click the 'Run Auto Approved Rules' button to run approved software normalization rules.

 

 

3. Select the required rules to run

4. Click 'Run'

5. Click 'OK'

 

Note: The default schedule for normalizing the software using software normalization auto approved rules is every 6 Hours. This schedule can be changed from Settings Tab-> Software Normalization-> Manage Software Normalization Rules tab by clicking on the link as shown in the below screen shot

 

 

 

By default software is normalized at an interval of six hours. Until that happens software is displayed with 'Unknown' tag (unknown manufacturer, unknown product, unknown category and unknown type). If the software has to be explicitly normalized, the software normalization rule has to be configured. See Software Normalization

1. Click 'Inventory' > 'Installed Software'

2. Click the '' 'Approve Software for Normalization' button to manually approve Software Normalization Rules. In the popup window click “Ok”

 

 

3. Select the required rules to run

4. Click 'Approve'

 

1.    Click Inventory > Installed Software > Software tab

2.    Select Manufacturer, Category, Type or Product

3.    Check the installed software corresponding to the software mapping and click Normalize. The selected installed software are now mapped to the manufacturer, category, type or product specified.

 

Group By

• Select Group By option from the drop down box to view installed software/updates grouped on selected option.

 

• Click Inventory > Installed Software > EXE/SWID Tags tab. This screen is used to view the list of executables/SWID tags present on the target machines.

• The executable information is collected from the following sources:

• From the path which is present in the registry

• Path present in the Windows startup

• From the Uninstallation string

 

 

• Select Software from the drop down box to which the executables have to be mapped

• Check the executables corresponding to the selected software and click Normalize. The selected executables are now mapped to the selected software. Similarly you can map SWID Tags to the selected software

• Click a particular executable/SWID Tag name to view the list of machines on which it is present

 

 

Note: SWID Tags are collected only on agent machines during extended software inventory

 

 

This tab provides the listing of all the operating systems installed that were discovered through the discovery process.

 

• Click 'Add Custom OS' to add an operating system

 

 

• Enter the 'Name' and  'Description' of the operating system

• Enter the 'Build Number' and 'Service Pack' of the operating system. This information can be got from the internet.

 

• Click this tab to view the list of installed software on the individual nodes across the network.

Audit Log provides the history of normalization changes to the software or executable or SWID tag collected during inventory. The normalization audit log is purged once in ten days by default. This time interval can be changed by changing the global settings key 'Purging Interval for Normalization Audit Log'
